IPAT Services
AT Swap & Shop
Welcome to the AT Swap & Shop, a "classified ads" feature that connects people with available AT. This service
has been in operation since 1996 and has connected many individuals throughout North Dakota with used AT.
The Swap & Shop Program is designed to facilitate transactions between individuals residing in North Dakota,
and is not for the resale or procurement of equipment by vendors or distributors. IPAT does not profit from the
sale of listed devices.

Disclaimer
IPAT does not warrant the condition or terms of sale of any device offered for sale or donation by an existing
owner under the AT Swap & Shop. IPAT shall not be liable for any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs,
expenses (including, but not limited to, settlements, judgments, court costs, and reasonable attorney's
fees), fines, and penalties, arising out of any actual or alleged injury, loss, or damage of any nature
whatsoever in connection with the sale or donation of any device purchased or sold under the AT Swap &
Shop. It shall be the responsibility of the seller to provide accurate and detailed information about the
device's specifications and condition to any buyer. IPAT functions solely as an information-sharing
communication channel.
IPAT reserves the right to edit or refuse listings based on the item description and condition. Listings
will be renewed every six months. By accepting these terms, you agree to hold harmless the
Interagency Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) should you experience a problem with any
transaction arising from the AT Swap & Shop.

Procedures
The procedure for listing items on the AT Swap & Shop are:
* Individuals wishing to list items must complete and submit the listing form available online or by calling
IPAT at 1-800-265-4728.
* IPAT will enter the item into the listing for six months. The owner is asked to notify IPAT when they
no longer have the item(s), or if they wish the item(s) to remain on the database for another six months.
* When callers request the item(s), IPAT will provide information on all the appropriate listings.
* IPAT will only provide information on available equipment. It will not be involved in, or responsible for,
any negotiations to acquire items.
* If changes need to be made to the item(s) listed, the individual listing the item(s) needs to complete,
sign, and date a Change Form, available online or by calling IPAT at 1-800-265-4728.
Used AT devices are listed by category and include device name, condition, seller's first name, city,
and contact information. When equipment is deleted from the database, IPAT will conduct a follow-up survey
in an effort to expand or improve this service.
Anyone in North Dakota can list AT device(s) through the AT Swap & Shop; individuals residing outside of
the state may access the online listing. The AT Swap & Shop Program will be limited only by the device(s) the
individuals themselves make available.

Transportation for Assistive Technology Devices
IPAT and CrossCountry Courier ~ in partnership ~ will transport for a nominal fee of $25-$30, used assistive
technology devices listed on the IPAT Swap & Shop listing to people in North Dakota.
Policies and Procedures:
* No size limitation, but if an item is small, secure it in a larger box.
* Small parts, accessories, wires, etc. that are connected to larger equipment, must be boxed, bagged,
or taped to equipment. There is to be nothing loose hanging from items.
* For safe transporting, breakables must be packaged.
* Door-to-door pick up and delivery of used assistive technology will be provided. Equipment must be by
the garage or front door, not in a room in the home, and delivery will be to the recipient's front door.
* Recipient must be home to accept delivery, as equipment cannot be left.
* All packages must be labeled with the sender's and recipient's information, i.e., contact person, complete
address, and telephone number.
* All packages in a shipment must be numbered, i.e., 1 of 1, 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc.
* Pick ups and deliveries will take place only in business or residential areas in towns with regular delivery,
not to rural areas. If a person lives in an area that does not have regular delivery, equipment will have to be
transported to the nearest town and the recipient will have to make arrangements for delivery to a business or
resident in a town with regular delivery.
* Pick ups and deliveries will be made on a flexible schedule, when there is room on the truck. Date of pick up
and delivery can be given, but not exact time.
* CrossCountry Courier is not responsible for damage to equipment, but takes pride in safe deliveries.
* Contact IPAT at 1-800-265-4728 for pick up/delivery of used assistive technology devices.
